SlideSleuth Terms of Service
Last updated: August 26, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and SlideSleuth (“SlideSleuth,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the SlideSleuth website, desktop application, accounts, subscriptions, analysis features, local agent connection, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, downloading or using SlideSleuth Desktop, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
The Service is offered globally wherever Stripe Managed Payments supports the customer, excluding restricted locations. The Service, product documentation, and SlideSleuth product support are currently provided in English. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you use the Service for a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and “you” includes that organization. The Service is not offered where its use would violate applicable law.
2. What SlideSleuth does
SlideSleuth helps you find and understand visual and spoken information in supported public YouTube videos. Depending on your plan and the source video, features may include timestamped Spoken Text, Topic Focus, Slide Focus, saved history, favorites, exports, and local access for compatible AI agents.
SlideSleuth Desktop currently requires an Apple silicon Mac. Supported sources, system requirements, plan features, and usage allowances may change over time. The plan details and price shown to you before purchase are part of these Terms. Availability of any analysis depends on factors such as source accessibility, captions, video format, visual and spoken content, third-party services, and your plan allowance. A Pro subscription is not an unlimited analysis plan.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for activity under your account. Promptly notify us using the contact form if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not share, sell, transfer, or make your account available to another person.
4. Source videos, your instructions, and permissions
You may direct the Service to supported public videos and provide searches, questions, prompts, and other instructions. You retain any rights you have in the material you submit. You give us the limited rights needed to process that material to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and support the Service as described in these Terms.
You are responsible for the sources you select and for having any permission required for your use. You may not use SlideSleuth to access nonpublic, restricted, unlawfully obtained, or access-controlled material; circumvent technical protections; or infringe another person’s copyright, privacy, or other rights. The fact that a video is publicly accessible does not mean that every use of it is permitted.
SlideSleuth does not claim ownership of third-party videos or other third-party content. SlideSleuth is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break the law or violate another person’s rights;
- analyze or distribute content that you are not authorized to use;
- bypass access restrictions, security measures, plan limits, or usage controls;
- upload or transmit malware or other harmful code;
- probe, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or another user;
- scrape, resell, sublicense, or provide the Service as a service bureau without our written permission;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, models, or nonpublic components, except where applicable law prohibits this restriction; or
- use automated means that create an unreasonable load or evade rate limits.
We may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable steps to protect users, third parties, and the Service.
6. Analysis results and AI limitations
SlideSleuth uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to produce analysis. Results may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. They may omit important context or misinterpret a source. Always check important conclusions against the original video and other reliable sources.
The Service and its results are for general informational purposes. They are not legal, medical, financial, tax, safety, or other professional advice, and they should not be the sole basis for decisions that could materially affect a person’s rights, health, safety, finances, employment, education, or access to essential services.
7. Third-party services and content
The Service depends on third-party platforms, content, software, payment providers, hosting providers, and AI services. Stripe or its Link service acts as merchant of record for eligible new purchases made through Managed Payments and provides transaction support for those purchases. Their terms may apply to your use of their products. We do not control third-party content or services and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, or conduct. A source video or feature may become unavailable without notice because of a third-party change, rights restriction, technical failure, or other circumstance outside our control.
8. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and original content, is owned by SlideSleuth or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service or the SlideSleuth name, logo, or other marks.
If you voluntarily send us feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation, but we will not identify you publicly as its source without your permission.
9. Free and paid plans
SlideSleuth may offer a Free plan and one or more paid plans. Free features may be changed or discontinued. Paid features and allowances are those displayed when you subscribe, subject to changes made under Section 11.
Monthly subscriptions and automatic renewal
Paid plans are monthly subscriptions. When you subscribe, you authorize Stripe or Link, as merchant of record, to charge the final amount displayed at checkout to your selected payment method. Prices are shown in USD. Your local currency and applicable taxes are calculated and shown at checkout. For US and Canadian customers, checkout may add applicable sales tax. Other local-currency checkouts may show a tax-inclusive total. Your subscription begins when the first payment is successfully processed and automatically renews each month until you cancel it. Your renewal date generally corresponds to the date your paid subscription began, subject to payment-processor and calendar adjustments disclosed at checkout or in your account.
Before you subscribe, we will clearly display the plan, recurring price, billing frequency, automatic-renewal terms, and cancellation method and ask for your affirmative consent. We will provide an electronic acknowledgment that you can retain. You are responsible for keeping your billing information current.
Founder launch pricing
For the limited founder launch offer, eligibility is secured when you start the authorized checkout by 15.9.26 and complete that checkout while it remains available. A founder monthly price continues while the same paid subscription remains active. You may switch between the founder Plus and founder Pro plans without losing founder status.
Scheduling cancellation for the end of a paid billing period does not end the subscription immediately. If you reverse that scheduled cancellation before the subscription ends, the founder price continues. If the subscription ends after cancellation or reaches a terminal unpaid or canceled state after payment retries, founder eligibility ends permanently. Any later subscription uses the then-current regular price.
Cancellation
You may cancel future renewal at any time through the online billing controls in your SlideSleuth account or the Stripe/Link order-management tools made available for your purchase. Cancellation stops future subscription charges and normally takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period, so you may continue using paid features until then. Deleting the desktop application or ceasing to use the Service does not cancel a subscription.
If online cancellation is unavailable because of a technical problem, submit the contact form using the address associated with your account. We will not require you to call or complete unnecessary steps to cancel.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, we or our payment processor may retry it and ask you to update your payment method. We may limit paid features until payment succeeds. We will not continue charging after your cancellation takes effect, except to collect an amount validly incurred before cancellation.
10. Refunds
Your first paid subscription payment is covered by our 14-day money-back promise. Eligibility, request instructions, timing, and the effect of a refund are explained in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
Except as stated in the Refund Policy or required by law, subscription payments are nonrefundable and we do not provide credits or prorated refunds for an unused part of a billing period. Cancelling future renewal does not by itself request a refund.
11. Price and subscription changes
We may change paid-plan prices or material subscription terms. We will provide clear notice by email and, when appropriate, in the Service 30 days before a price change takes effect. A price change will apply no earlier than your first renewal after that notice period. If you do not agree, you may cancel online before the change takes effect. We will request new consent where applicable law requires it.
We may add, improve, limit, or discontinue features. If a change materially reduces the core paid Service during a prepaid period, you may contact us. Where required by law, we will provide an appropriate remedy.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time, but you must separately cancel any paid subscription to stop renewal charges.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, create a security or legal risk, fail to pay amounts due, or misuse the Service. When reasonably possible, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. We may act immediately when necessary to prevent harm, protect the Service, or comply with law.
If we end a paid subscription without cause before the end of a prepaid period, we will provide a prorated refund for the unused portion. If we terminate for a material violation of these Terms, no refund is due except where required by law.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and disclose personal information associated with accounts, subscriptions, security, and contact requests. Please review it before using the Service.
14. Copyright and rights concerns
If you believe use of the Service or material associated with it infringes your rights, submit the contact form with enough information for us to identify the material, understand your claim, and contact you. We may remove or restrict material and may terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.
15. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” SLIDESLEUTH DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR SUITABLE FOR EVERY VIDEO OR PURPOSE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, these exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLIDESLEUTH AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THEIR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SLIDESLEUTH FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US$100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
17. Responsibility for misuse
To the extent permitted by law, if you use the Service on behalf of a business or organization, that business or organization will defend and indemnify SlideSleuth against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from its unlawful use of the Service, its infringement of another person’s rights, or its material violation of these Terms. This section does not apply to an individual consumer acting solely for personal, family, or household purposes.
18. Disputes
Before filing a lawsuit, you and SlideSleuth agree to make a good-faith effort for 30 days to resolve the dispute informally. Submit the contact form and describe the issue and the resolution you seek.
Claims may be brought in any court with lawful jurisdiction. Either party may bring an eligible individual claim in an available small-claims or equivalent court. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive any right to participate in a class action. Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of mandatory protections or a forum available under the law of the consumer’s country of residence.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, or our practices. If a change materially affects your rights or an active paid subscription, we will provide advance notice by email or through the Service. For an active paid subscription, a material change will apply no earlier than your next renewal after the stated notice period, unless the change is required sooner by law or addresses an urgent security risk. You may cancel before the change takes effect. The Last Updated date above shows when these Terms were last revised.
20. Electronic communications
You agree that we may send account, transaction, policy, security, and service notices electronically, including by email or through the Service. You may retain these communications for your records. Marketing communications, if any, will be handled separately and may be unsubscribed from without affecting service messages.
21. General terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, and the plan and billing terms presented at checkout form the agreement between you and SlideSleuth about the Service. If there is a conflict, the checkout terms control for the specific price and billing frequency you accepted, and these Terms control on other subjects.
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, reorganization, sale of assets, or operation of law, provided that doing so does not reduce your nonwaivable rights.
22. Contact
