SlideSleuth Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SlideSleuth (“SlideSleuth,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information associated with SlideSleuth accounts, subscriptions, security, and contact requests. The Service is offered globally where Stripe Managed Payments supports the customer, excluding restricted locations. SlideSleuth’s product and privacy support are provided in English.

Information we collect

We collect only the personal information reasonably necessary to operate the Service. This includes information you provide when you create or manage an account, purchase or manage a subscription, or contact us. We also maintain limited account, plan, transaction-reference, authentication, security, and service-operation records needed to provide the correct access, protect the Service, prevent abuse, and respond to requests.

When you use the contact form, we retain the information you submit and a limited security record used to prevent automated or repeated abuse. Please do not include passwords, authentication codes, or full payment-card details in a contact request.

How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

create, authenticate, secure, and support your account;
provide the features and plan you selected;
administer subscriptions, payments, cancellations, and refunds;
respond to account, billing, privacy, security, and other contact requests;
prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
maintain the reliability and security of the Service; and
comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.

We do not use personal information for third-party advertising or to build advertising profiles.

Essential session and security technology

SlideSleuth uses browser and device storage that is necessary to keep you signed in, maintain secure sessions, complete authorized sign-in handoffs, remember essential settings, and protect forms from abuse. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or track your activity across unrelated services for advertising purposes.

Payments

Eligible new purchases are handled by Stripe or its Link service as merchant of record through Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe handles checkout, localized payment presentation, indirect tax, transaction communications, payment fraud, disputes, and transaction support. SlideSleuth stores only the account, subscription, status, and transaction references needed to provide paid access and administer billing. SlideSleuth does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Disclosure of personal information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not disclose personal information for third-party advertising, targeted advertising, or unrelated marketing purposes.

We disclose limited personal information only to essential service providers that process it on our behalf to provide hosting, authentication, billing, communications, security, or support services. We authorize those providers to use the information only to perform those services for us. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of SlideSleuth, our users, or others.

Our providers and customers may be located in different countries. Information may therefore be processed outside your country of residence, subject to the provider safeguards and legal requirements applicable to that processing.

Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the Service, maintain your account or subscription, respond to requests, keep required transaction and accounting records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. When information is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention periods.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your choices and requests

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you. Submit the contact form using the email address associated with your account when applicable. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and we may retain information where required by law or reasonably necessary for security, billing, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.

Children

The Service is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, submit the contact form.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We will change the Last Updated date above and provide additional notice when required by law.
